The Inspector-General of Water Compliance is an independent integrity agency. It oversees the performance of Murray-Darling Basin governments and agencies under the Murray-Darling Basin Plan and Water Act 2007.
To achieve this, the agency needs to:
- ensure the clarity of roles and responsibilities with Basin governments and agencies
- enable collaboration where this assists its monitoring and oversight role.
The terms of this collaboration are set out in memoranda of understanding. The Inspector-General of Water Compliance has set out separate terms of collaboration with:
- the Murray-Darling Basin Authority. View this MOU on the Murray-Darling Basin site(Opens in a new tab/window).
- Basin State governments.
